2016 Wedding Color Themes: Pantone Color of 2016
April 14, 2016
For the first time in history, Pantone has declared two colors of the year for 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity. If you’re envisioning a baby shower…we don’t blame you, but we’re here to show you how to utilize these colors in a way that doesn’t scream, “Baby on Board!”
Pantone, the color authority, announced that these shades were chosen to convey rosy warmth and tranquility. “Rose Quartz is not baby pink,” said Leatrice Eisman executive director of Pantone’s Color Institute, “it does not have that wimpy feel.” So when asked what did inspire the choice, Eisman stated, “This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements towards gender equality and fluidity.”
Joined together Rose Quartz and Serenity display a balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, combined to create a sense of soothing, order and peace.
Rather than describe to you all the ways to utilize the color combo in your special day, let us show you.
