A Heartwarming Real Life Proposal Story
Our Clients, Ayshia & Alex
February 2, 2017
Alex and I first met at the young age of 16 and 17, while at a 2006 Summer Warped Tour Concert in Tinley Park, IL. By total coincidence, a mutual friend introduced us that day and we spent the rest of the summer hanging out and getting to know each another. On August 12, 2006, Alex "officially" asked me to be his girlfriend. For the first ten years of our relationship, we focused on finishing high school, graduating from college and finding great jobs. We then moved into our first townhome together and welcomed an adorable puppy named Bennett. All those years together really taught us a lot, not only about each other, but about ourselves.
I can definitely say with each passing year our love has grown stronger and on May 30th, 2016, Alex made things "official" once again and proposed! We were attending the Summer Camp Music Festival this time in Chillicothe, IL. We just finished watching an amazing Big Grizmatik finale concert when all of a sudden Alex nervously attempted to express his love. I didn't think anything of it until he finally pulled a little red ring box out from his pocket. He opened it and before he could say anything else I said YES and leaped into his arms! Many people have asked if I knew it was coming and the answer is: I didn’t have a clue. The Summer Camp Music Festival is a weekend spent in tents, hanging out and catching awesome shows. I knew I was in for an experience to remember, but I totally didn't see that coming! Thus far, being engaged has been awesome. Our families threw us an amazing engagement party in Chicago and our closest friends have all agreed to stand beside us in our wedding!
Before we could walk down the aisle, there was one thing we needed to do first: Move to the beautiful and sunny state of Colorado! As we discussed our future and where we saw ourselves, it was clear that we were both ready for a lifestyle change. Instead of cement and skyscrapers, we wanted mountains and Mother Nature. So now we are here, living and loving every day in this beautiful place and we can't imagine tying the knot anywhere else! We've even decided to get married on our very special Anniversary, August 12, 2017. Other than spending the rest of our lives together, I'd say we're most excited about the endless opportunities and adventures ahead! Who knows what the future may bring, the possibilities are endless. <3
