Maybe you have budget constraints, or you and your partner simply prefer the company of grown up’s?! There’s a ton of reasons why you may want to consider an “adults only” wedding. If you need some guidance with making that decision, consider these pro’s and con’s:
You can keep costs down because caterers charge per person and it also costs more money for another chair, another table-setting, etc. Whether it’s a budget concern or space, excluding children can considerably reduce the guest list.
Your guests will likely feel more relaxed.
Consider the fact that this can be especially true for your guests who are parents. Kids are great, we agree, but it’s harder for those who want to cut loose and have a fun date night when you are having to keep an eye on your little ones. It is also YOUR day and sometimes having babies crying during your wedding vows is just not something you or your guests want to hear in that special moment. Trust us, that is completely OK!
WARNING! This will happen. Someone, somehow will take offense to your decision, and don’t understand why you wouldn’t want their child at your wedding. It’s not a personal dig at those that have children, but inevitably someone will feel that way and they may even vocalize it.
Guests May Not Make it.
Making arrangements for childcare can be difficult, especially if your wedding requires them to travel and stay for the weekend. Just be aware, this may be what prohibits some guests from making it.
As you can see the pro’s and con’s equal each other out. This decision is completely up to you and what works best for you and your partner. Make the decision, stick to it and own it because it will be the perfect day you have always envisioned!
